I Can Animate
I Can Animate software is an easy to use stop-motion animation programme designed for both primary and secondary pupils. It is available for the Mac, iPod and iPhone and a free five-day trial can be downloaded from Kudlian.net.
On Monday 23rd April an RTC event was held to showcase this software to school staff. Animation stations with a MacBook, webcam and associated materials were set up for every to have a go and to create their own animations. So frames were captured and the essence of stop-motion animation embraced. The animations were then imported into iMovie which we looked at last month to add sound effects, titles and any voiceover.

Really enjoyed this software. Apart from being good fun though, it was easy to use and made good quality animation. I particularly liked how it left a sort of watermark on screen of the last position everything was in while allowing you to see how you were setting up your next position for the next shot. As usual with Mac all the buttons and menus seemed familier and allowed for the user to be intuitive with minimum help.
